Temporary Road Closure – St John’s Road & Temporary Traffic Lights – A259 Lydd Road, New Romney

A closure of part of St John’s Road, New Romney is planned from Monday 15th January 2018 for an estimated period of up to 5 days. St John’s Road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Lydd Road.
Access to the remainder of St John’s Road continues from an eastern (West Street) direction up to where the road is actually closed.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Lydd Road and West Street.
The closure is in conjunction with temporary traffic lights on A259 Lydd Road
Due to the nature of these works, the restrictions need to remain in place outside the working hours.
Some delays are to be expected, especially at busier times, so it is recommended that motorists allow extra time for their journeys or consider using alternative routes during these works.
The restrictions are to enable Affinity Water to carry out works to provide a new water connection in Lydd Road.
There is a chance that the works may over-run for such reasons as adverse weather conditions or unforeseen engineering difficulties.
